WELLINGTON MARKETS. Wholesale Prices, farm and dairy produce.

The Customs duties collected at the port off Wellington for the week ending on Saturday amounted to L 3206 7s 4d. Beer duty* Lll4 11s 3d. Fresh butter, in consequence of the prevailing hot weather, is very scarce, dairymen being quite unable to forward supplies in anything like marketable condition—prices now rule from 9d ; there is no demand for salt butter; cheese, bacon, and hams are unaltered ; eggs are firm at last quoted rates, with an upward tendency. With the exception of bananas the arrivals of fruit have been confined to the Nelson products, which are ruling somewhat as follow ; —Plums, os ; gages, 6s 6d to 8s ; peaches, 7s 6d ; nectarines, 6s 6d; apricots (in order), 8s to 9s; pears (greatly affected with the moth), 33 to 6s per half-case ; apples (common), 3s ; good cookiug sorts, 5s to 7s per case. Poultry—Turkeys, 10s ; geese, 6s ; ducks, 4s ; fowls, 3s 6d per pair, with only limited inquiry.
