LAN D BOARD.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Land Board was held in the Education Board offices yesterday morning. Present—ChiefCommissioner J. W. A. Marchant (in the chair), Commissioners Bunny, Fitzherbert, Reese, McCardle, and Beetham. The schedule of land showed that 29S acres 3 roods 8 perohes had been disposed of at an upset price of £lO Is sd. Applications were received from Messrs W. Farrell, selector of section il3, Block XI., Mangahoa ; and H. M. McDonald, selector of seotion 68, Block IX., Pohangino, to capitalise, and were approved. An application from Mr J. Saxon, to be allowed to capitalise, and complete title for section 27, Block IX., Pohangina, was agreed to. Mr F. Von Reden forwarded final payment on seotion 46, Block X., Mangaone. The Board decided to issue a title. Mr Von Reden stated that he had felled bush on adjoining sections, and asked that his cost of doing so be protected. The Board decided that they had no power to protect the cost. F. Burgess, lessee of sections 6 and 8, Block IV., Makuri, wrote oomplaining that there was no road access to the same. It was decided to write to the local body calling their attention to the matter. F. McDonald applied to be allowed to reside on his brother's small run instead of his own. No action was taken. Messrs Thurton Bros, forwarded joint applications for perpetual leaseß of seotions 3, Block IV., Omahine, and seotion 78, Block HI Wairoa. The Board decided to inform the applicants they had no power to grant the application. Proposals for expenditure of accrued thirds on roads within their district were forwarded by the Mauriceville Road Board. Approved, if money available. The Mangawhero Road Board forwarded proposals for expenditure of accrued fourths on roads within their district. The Board decided that they could notappiove the proposals as the money is not taken from seotions interested. An application was received from W. N. R. Rummer to have section 106/ Block 11., Kopuaraoga, transferred to him, his wife, who owned the land, having died intestate. The Board decided to inform the applicant that executors must take action in the matter. Messrs Fabin Bros, applied for permission to pay off the balances on sections 15, 19 and 20, Block V., Kopuaranga, and obtain titles. It was resolved to inform the applicants that sufficient improvements have not been effected on the land. The question of pegs, which could not be found on Messrs Olsen and Yorke’s section, was brought up by Mr McCardle, who moved that the Survey Office be requested to'attend to the matter as soon as possible. Seconded by Mr Beetham, and carried. On the motion of Mr Bunny, seconded by Mr Beetham, the Board adjourned for three weeks,
