EARTHQUAKE.
A shook of earthquake was felt _at 21 minutes past 6on Monday evening. It was somewhat sharp, and lasted for about a couple of seconds. The direction appeared to be from north to south. . , , - Our Grey town correspondent telegraphs that the shock was felt at Grey town at 6.10 p.m., and that its apparent vibration was from east to west. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) KLaikoura, January 31. A slight shock of earthquake was felt here at twenty-one minutes past 6 this evening. Nelson, January 31. A slight earthquake shock was felt at 6.20. Christchurch, January 31. A slight shock of earthquake was felt here at 6 20 S p,m., the apparent direction being from east to west, and the duration about five seconds.
