Melbourne, December 15.
A Select Committee of the Legislative Assembly has recommended acceptance of a tender by the Melbourne Age for the production of a daily Hansard. The Victorian Government has decided to ask the Government of New South Wales to join in inviting the Prince of Wales to visit Australia during the Centenary celebration in 1888.
u SrifNEY, December 15. . Arrived, last evening—Mararoa, from Auckland.
The steamship Corapgamite, whichlies stranded in Wreck Bay, has been-, abandoned.
An inquiry is now proceeding as to the cause of the loss of the steamship Keilawarra.
Hobart, December 15.
Arrived, this morning-—Shaw, Savill steamship lonic, en route for Auckland.
Albany, December 16.
The steamer Preussen, bound for ■ Melbourne, has arrived here, having one case of small-pox on board. Shehas 600 passengers.
