Captain Sinclair, of the ship Waimea, -which left Auckland for England several days before the Tarawera eruption, writes to friends here stating that when 600 miles from New Zealand showers of blinding dnst fell, covering the ship. Rotorua, December 7. Mr and Mrs George Beetham returned from Rotomahana and Tarawera yesterday. Mr Hutchinson, the engineer, who accompanied them, considers that the White Terrace is merely buried. The party ascended Mount Tarawera, and had a full view of the crater. They Btate that the scene of desolation was indescribable.
