ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
(united press association.) Invercargill, December 4. James McDonald, a baker, aged 66, living at Lumsde", attempted suicide last night by taking strychnine. He was found in convulsions by the landlord of the hotel where he was stopping, and quite stiff. Walt and water were administered as an emetic, and this morning he was so far recovered as to be able to come by train to the Hospital. McDonald took an overdose, and will probably get better. He says he is sorry be did not use a razor. The cause of the act was family trouble.
