London, December 1.

The Conference between the Committee of the Imperial Institute and the Agents-General took place to-day, when the points of disagreement relative to the management of the Institute were discussed. The proceedings were of a most satisfactory character, and the Committee promised that colonial legislation as to the Imperial Institute should be fully secured. All the suggestions made by the Agents will be carried out, but the nature of these suggestions has not yet transpired. Melboubne, December 7. The Government have received a

telegram from the Agents-General, collectively, stating that the basis of the Imperial Institute has been remodelled. It will be called the Imperial Institute of the United Kingdom, the British Colonies, and India, each controlling its own section. The Committee contemplate holding periodical exhibitions ot‘ specific industries and products.
