CHARGE UNDER LICENSING ACT.
PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, November 27. Mr Fisher, licensee of the Albion Hotel, was summoned for being absent from his hotel for more than fourteen days without the leave of the Licensing Committee. He was charged with appointing a man named Downing to carry on his business in his absence without the leave of the Committee. Downing was charged with selling liquor without a license. From statements made by Downing to the Chairman of the Licensing Committee it appears that Downing had been in charge from last JunCj Fisher living in the country, and keeping a the hotel, and coming in once a week. The police are applying for a cancellation of the license. There is no fine provided for under the Act. The case wes adjourned till Saturday, .
