At the Resident Magistrate’s Court Wednesday morning, before Messrs Eb. Baker and F. Brady, presiding Justices, a first
offender, was charged with drunkenness, and fined ss, ’or in default 24 hours imprisonment. Two women named Nelly Hall and Alice Pratt, alias Walsh, pleaded guilty to the charge of vagrancy. Both are old offenders, well known to the police, and ■were sentenced to one month in gaol with hard labor. William Keegan, charged with assault, had the charge withdrawn, on the application of Mr Jellicoe. charge Wamby v Wamby, in which the wife seeks a protection order, under the Married Women’s Property Protection Act, was adjourned to Priday. This was all the business.
