HUTT PARK, PETONE.

The announcement of the sale of the above suburban township drew a very large attendance to Messrs Kennedy Macdonald and Co.’s Land Auction Rooms, Panamastreet, last Friday, the great portion of whom were intending buyers, and included settlers from the Hutt, Petone, and surrounding districts, as well as eity residents. The auctioneer, Mr Macdonald, having read the conditions of sale, answered several inquiries, and! pointed out the advantages of the township, the bidding was started, and after the first few lots had been sold, and everyone settled down to the business, the bidding became spirited, most of the lots evoking considerable competition. Indeed, it was refreshing to see the demand for most of the allotments, and considering that nearly 100 sections were sold out of the 147 on the plan, and at satisfactory prices, it must be considered by far the most successful sale of suburban townships since 1878. The Dileetors of the Hutt Park Railway Company, the auctioneers, and all concerned are to be congratulated on the success of the sale.
