The representatives of the various lodges in the district met at 1 p.m yesterday week,at the Oddfellows’ Hall, Lambton quay, and a most Interesting meeting resulted. The meeting -was in connection with the oldest and -wealthiest Friendly Society in New Zealand, amd the suggestions made were in the direction of increasing its usefulness. Application for a new lodge to be opened at Fahiat.ua -was agreed to. The question of subscribing

to the Hospital and Charitable Aid was submitted, and resulted in arranging that each lodge should do as it pleased, A presentation was made by P.P.G.M. John Smith, jnn., to the Loyal Greytown Lodge, through P.P.G.M. Loasby, of a photograph of the representatives at the Exhibition. A presentation was also made to P.P.G.M. Xioasby, who has been most energetic with reference to Oddfellowship. Representatives were present from Petone, Hutt, Johnson* ville, Porirua, Featherston, Greytown, Carterton, Masterton, beside the town lodges Britannia and Antipodean. The delegates were entertained by the Britannia Lodge (the ; oldest Oddfellows’ Lodge in New Zealand) at j Orr’s City Buffet, and the proceedings culj minated in an entertainment in the Lodgeroom, in whioh Bros Hall, Hare, Taylor, Ellison, Furness, Wright, and others contributed to make a most enjoyable evening.
