FIRE AT PALMERSTON.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Palmerston North, August 4. A six-roomed house owned by ThomasSutton, and occupied by himself and family, was destroyed by fire early this morning, the occupants having a narrow escape with their lives. Little or nothing was saved. The fire is supposed to have originated in a spark from tbe kitchen fire which had been left horning. The insurance on the house is £IOO in the South British, and on the contents £IOO in the Phoenix. The loss ia estimated to exceed these amounts.
