MINING NEWS.
(UNITED PKEBS ASSOCIATION ) Hokitika, July 23. Work in the Ros 3 United Compiny’a Mine is being steadily pushed forward on the washdirt. The mining manager is getting a face which will soon enable him to open ont. Last week’s returns were and to day’s BJ'Z. This is considered good, seeing that working is still very confined. A valuable discovery has been made at the Oliver Range 3. Several . large lodes of ore containiug a va'uable white metal, bave been found by Mr Douglas, a well-known explorer. Samples have been sent to Dr Hector for analysis.
