DEATH FROM EXPOSURE.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Nelson, June 11. Information has been received from the Wairau this afternoon that as a survey party was coming in from the back country of the Upper Clarence, the men were caught in a severe snowstorm. Two of the party namely,. Messrs Paske (cadet), and Hugh Thompson (chainman), died from exposure. Mr F. Smith, the district surveyor, and four hands were rescued by a relief party from Mr McArthur’s St James’ station.
