MR SHAW’S APPEAL.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND MAIL. Sir, —Mr Shaw makes and appeal in a late issue for funds to fence m the graves of Mr Laing and Dr Diver. Is it not a fact that the heirs-at-law of the first-named have received a considerable sum of money out of his estate, and are to get more ? With so many demands on account of the living upon the purses of people that pay their way, it is not agreeable to be placed in a position m which one must refuse to perform an office for the dead which ought to be performed by the living.—lam, &c., Justitia.
