LAND BOARD.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Land Board was held in the Crown Lands Offica yesterday morning. Present Messrs H. Bunny (in the chair), G. Beetham, M.H.E., W. W. McCardle, W. A. Fitzherbert, A. Reese. The schedule of lands showed that 4826 acres 11 perches had been applied for at a price of £:?30 Is 2d. The following applications for transfer were acceded to :—Sections 21 and 22, Block 11., Mangaone, from W. Hall to Li. Bourke ; section 1599, Block IX- Kainanga, from T. Sanson to P. McEwen. Mr B. Bey applied to be allowed to pay off the balance due on section 19, Block XII, Mangahao. Agreed to. W. Claridge, selector of section 25, Block XI, Mangaone, applied for time to make his payments. The Board decided to give him six months, providing he makes second payment at once. A letter was received from W. Print, selector of section 60, Block IX, Pohaugina, stating that he was effecting improvements on his land. An application of Mr W. Nifz, that the land adjoining his section at Kaiwhata be offered for sale on deferred payment, it was decided to let the matter stand over, and that Mr Nitz bs asked if a small run would suit him, as section is too large for deferred payment. The applications of J. Olsen, Mangaone, for permission to build a whare on Crown lands adjoining his property, and Messrs W. G. and A. R. Woon

for the lease of a portion of email run. No. 31, were allowed to stand till next meeting. Mr. W. Nagel wrote, asking that deferred payment thirds accruing from his property be paid to the Alfredton Road Board- The matter was held over. A scheme of the village settlement at the back of Pahiatua was submitted ; to be discussed at next meeting. A statement of balances on votes for roads to open up Crown lands was laid on the table. The Comtnis* sioner supplied a return of the area disposed of on the small run system. With reference to the reduction of the price of section 42, Block VII., Mangaone, now open for application at £1 lOsper.aore, Mr Beetham moved that the section be withdrawn from the sale, and reoffered at 25s per acre. The resolutions re Gross’ Creek sections to be rescinded, and the small sections to be offered as village settlements. The meeting then terminated.
