MR. GLADSTONE’S IRISH SCHEME.
Br Electric Telegraph—Copyright, keuter’s telegrams. London, June 8. A Cabinet Council was held to-day ■to consider the position of the Government after the adverse vote of the House of Commons on the Home Rule Bill. It is generally believed
that it was resolved to ask Her Majesty to grant a dissolution. Ninety-four Liberal members voted against the Government on Mpnday night. London, June 9. Her Majesty the Queen. has given her sanction for a dissolution of Parliament. The date of the new elections has not yet been fixed. (special to united press association.) London, June 8. The result of the division on the Irish Land Purchase Bill has evoked great enthusiasm throughout Ulster. The opinion of the provincial Press is unfavorable to Mr Gladstone attempting an appeal to the country. The American Press regret that Mr Gladstone’s proposals were rejected. The Continental Press is not surprised at the result.
