The Union Steamship Company’s steamer Wakatipu sailed from Dunedin at 9 am on Wednesday last week, arrivedat Timaruat 7 pm the same day, left again 24 hours later, reached Lyttelton at 7 am on Friday, sailed again at 8 pm, and arrived here at 9.30 pm on Saturday. She had north-east weather up to Lyttelton, and from 2 am on Saturdays strong north-east gale with very heavy sea, which moderated at Cape Campbell. She sailed for Sydney direct at 0.30 pm on Sunday. The Shaw, Savill and Albion "Company’s ship City of Florence, Captain Leask, left London for Wellington on March. The German barque Norway, 529 tons, left New York for Wellington and Auckland on March 9, and the American barque Katahdin was loading at New York for the same ports on April 2, and was expected to sail about the 15th. The cargo of the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Companv.’s ship Lyttelton is being put with great dispatch, in order to clear her refrigerating chambers for the meat which was frozen for the Coptic, but had to be kept back.
