SALMON AND HERRING OVA.

(united press association.) Christchurch, October 27. Mr S. C. Farr leaves by the Doric on Saturday to bring out salmon ova -on behalf of the Associated Acclimatization Societies of New Zealand. The Government offered £250 to defray expenses in bringing, out herring ova, and the Canterbury Acclimatization Society has accepted the offer on condition that the success as regards the salmon ova is not jeopardised. Mr Farr will be dela. ed a month to obtain the herring ova, but the salmon ova can, by permission of the New Zealand Shipping Company, be kept, in a freezing chamber at the London Docks till his departure on the return voyage to Lyttelton.
