A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND MAIL. Sir, — I should feel obliged if you will allow iue to correct an error made by your correspondent in his report of last week’s parliamentary proceedings. In that issue I read, <£ J\lr Beetham had come to the conclusion that ‘ the city of Wellington has the meanest corporation in New Zealand.’ On the night alluded to by the last speaker, he believed he should not have found his house had it not been for a light shining from a window.” I was not in the House when Mr Pyke asked his question, or during the" amusing description that ensued. I think Mr Pyke is quite right to call attention to the action of the corporation, and I hope that the municipal authorities will take the hint, and for the remainder of the session give, the legislators requiring it, the enlightenment they need. —I am, &c., George Beetham. Wellington, October 16, 1884.
