The steamers Tui and Jane Douglas left Foxton at 5.30 pm on Wednesday, and arrived here at 2.30 am yesterday, having had fine weather. The ss Waverley arrived here from Patea at S am yesterday, having left there at 5.30 the previous evening. She returns to-day. The ss Huia arrived here at S am yesterday, after a twelve hours’ run from Wanganui. The following vessels were m port yesterday: —The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co’s ship Zealandia, at anchor; the Black Diamond Line barque Sophia B. Luhrs, discharging Newcastle coal at the wharf; the Union S.S. Co’s steamer Hawea; the Government steamer Hinemoa ; the steamers Huia, Waverley, Tui, Jane Douglas at the wharves ; and the ss Oreti laid up for repairs.
