COLONIAL PRIZE FIRING.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
Oamaru, September 26,
In connection with the proposal to bold the prize firing in both Islands, Major Sumpter has addressed a circular to the various commanding officers, asking if they will arrange for the appointment of three delegates from each district to meet in Dunedin on the 9th October, who will decide on a central site for the annuil competition, fix the most suitable date for the competition, so as not to interfere with harvesting or shearing, and to consider any other matter that may arise.
