MESSRS. T. KENNEDY MACDONALD AND CO.’S PROPERTY SALE. There was a crowded attendance at the sale of properties held last Friday by Messrs T. Kennedy Macdonald and Co., in their auction rooms. Panama-street, when a number of properties in W. W. Taylor’s estate were submitted. The following is the result of the sale : —Lot 1, two-storey house in Herbertstreet, with frontage of 51 links by a depth of 105 links, sold to James Lockhead, for L 355; lot 2, freehold property, old Customhousestreet, with frontage of 74 feet 1 inch, with buildings, kc., sold to Mr George Dixon, L7OO ; lot 3, the Manawa Run, of 12,000 acres, with. 5000 sheep and SOO cattle, sold to Mr G. Dixon, for L 23,500; lot 4, section 824, Whareama, adjoining the Manawa Run, _S6G acres, sold to Jacob Joseph for L 55 0; lot 5, four sections, Halcombe, sold to G. Tabor, for L3O ; lot 6, thirteen sections, Halcombe, sold to Andrew Luff, for L4O; lot 7, four-roomed cottage off Tory-street, with frontage of 39 feet, sold to N. F. Richards, for L 175 ; lot 8, interest in life insurance policy, of L2OOO, sold to A. Scampton, for L 5; lot 9, .nine roomed house, Halcombe, with two sections, sold to Mr A. S. Grant, for L 129 9s Id ; lot 10, ten-acre section, Wharema district, sold to G Dixon for Ll 6 ; lot 11, house, of six rooms, with acre of land, lately occupied by Mr John Taylor, sold to Mr T. G. The customs duties collected at the port of Wellington for the week ending Saturday amounted to L 5958 10s. Beer duty, L 96 14s 9d. LABOR MARKET. We have been very busy during the past week, there being a good demand for domestic servants, also farm hands and married couples. We

have still some good men on our books (shearers, milkmen, and ploughmen), the latest direct steamers having increased our number considerably, but we anticipate placing them during the coming week if the present state of the market continues.
