MISHAP TO THE TE ANAU.

On Mar. 12 a telegram was received from the Bluff stating that the s.s. Te Anau, on her to Melbourne, had broken all the blades of her propeller, when fifteen miles off the coast, and that she having got back to the Bluff under canvass, she was waiting there to get towed to Port Chalmers for repairs. The following later telegrams are to hand per United Press Association : Bluff, March 12.

The Te Anau returned last night,, and anchored outside the heads, experiencing a very heavy sea about 400 miles from land, which stripped her fan completely. Captain Carey at once headed for New Zealand under sail. Had head winds one day, but succeeded in making the Bluff in four days. The passengers have landed to go on board the Rotorua to-morrow, and the Te Anau waits the arrival of Koputai to-night.

Poet Chalmers, March 12. The tug Koputai left this morning for Bluff Harbor, and will tow back the Te Anau.
