<,. Melbourne. —The "Age" of the Ist reports : —Wheat is not pressed for sale, and the value is retained at 5s for prime samples. Feeding grains are firm, and maize is slightly dearer, 2a 9&CI having been declined, and for one lot 2s lOd was obtained to-day. Hops are in moderate request, the market being favorably influenced by the home advices of a rise ; 90 bales Kent, 1872, were taken up at a full rate. Kerosene is supported at about recent values : 1700 cases Devoe's chataged hands in parcels at Is llf. According to Goldsborough's monthly Circular there has been a decline in both washed and greasy wool, the former suffering to the greatest extent, say Id to per lb. Buyers show less eagerness to operate, and when clips withdrawn have been re-offered the bids bave invariably been less than the original offer. Average fleece which was saleable in December at Is lOd, is now less easy to quit at Is 8d to Is greasy a reduction of fd to fd per pound has been submitted to. Superior light-condi-tioned greasy, suitable for America, has maintained its value better than any other description, and nearly all the lots offered have been freely taken for shipment to New York and Boston per ships Cambria and Herzog Ernst, which vessels have sailed during the month with a total of 2619 bales on board. 29,299 bales were shipped to London during the month. J. H. Clough and Co's price list and produce report states that freights have advanced §d per greasy and Id for washed wool, and furnishes the following quotations : Greasy —Inferior, 8d to 9 J per lb ; average to good, 10d to Fleece—lnferior, 14d to 16£d ; ordinary to average, 17d to 20d ; average to good, 21£d to 23d. Fleece—Superior, 24d to 26d. Scoured —Inferior, 14d tol6d ; ordinary, 18d to 19d ; average to good, 20d to 23d; superior, 23d to 26d;
