BRITISH AND INDIAN TROOPS
NO INCIDENTS REPORTED (Received September 5, 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, September 5 British and Indian troops have entered Singapore. News of the landing came direct from the Singapore radio station in a message in English which said there had been no incidents. The broadcast said the radio station was intact and a further message would be broadcast later. Three thousand R.A.F. men, including construction groups, have arrived at Hongkong in the Canadian Pacific liner Empress of Australia. This vessel may be used to evacuate prisoners of war.
