DAY LOST AT MINE
COMPLAINT ABOUT COLD STOP-WORK DELAYS (0.C.) HUXTLY, Wednesday A stoppage occurred at the Pukemiro colliery today, the men returning to their homes "after a stop-work meeting which lasted an hour. According to the management, the cause of the stoppage was that the man detailed to make the usual issue of explosives to the men complained that the powder was too cold to handlp. It is expected that a settlement will be reached and work resumed tomorrow. Men of the Renown mine held a meeting for three-quarters of an hour to discuss union matters and then went in to work. The Glen Afton colliery men held a mpeting for one and a-half hours and went, to work afterward. No meetings were held at the McDonald, Rotowaro and Alison mines and work proceeded normallv.
