ALLIES ACCUSED
PBAYDA'S ATTITUDE DIPLOMATIC INTERFERENCE FOREIGN PRESS ATTACKED (Reed. 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 28 Pravda today publishes an article accusing Britain and America of "diplomatic interference" in supporting Field-Marshal Alexander in the recent Trieste dispute, reports the Associated Press Moscow correspondent. This is the second successive day that the press has given attention to the Trieste question. Pravda's special correspondent described the dispute as "one of the most malicious themes" of the foreign press, singling out particularly the Economist (Britain), the New York Times and the Baltimore Sun for their editorial attacks against Yugoslavia. The article declared that Yugoslavia had earned the full right to a proper estimation of her contribution to victory in the Mediterranean.
The Times publishes a letter from a British soldier lately in Yugoslavia asserting that Marshal Tito's regime has all the characteristics of Nazism—secret political police, an unscrupulous propaganda bureau, judicial murders of political opponents, regimentation of child ren into fanatical hero-worshipping gangs, the kidnapping of political, opponents, and the persecution of the Roman Catholic Church.
This last is armed at the Church's extinction, in spite of the fact that the people in the over-run territories are predominantly Roman Catholic. Great numbers of priests have already been killed, religious houses closed, and religious associations abolished.
