DIVORCE DECREES
UNDEFENDED PETITIONS Several undefended divorce petitions were heard by Mr Justice Caflan yesterday. On the ground of his wife's adultery with an American naval officer, John Wvnyard Morrison (Mr Hubble) sought divorce from Katherine Morrison (Mr Henry), to whom he was married in October, 1937. He went overseas in July, 1943, and when he returned last September his wife asked him to forgive her, but petitioner said he had not done so. Kvidcnce was given by a brother-in-law and the father of the petitioner that they had visited the respondent's home one morning last August and found the only other occupant of the house was a man who was hiding in a wardrobe. He gave the name of "Commander Plank" and his address as Bougainville. His Honor granted a decree nisi, Failure to comply with an order for restitution of conjugal rights was the ground on which decrees nisi were granted to Pauline Ruby Keon (Mr Schramm) against Colin Joseph Keon, and to Hermione Marion Thomson (Mr Aekins) against Bruce Reginald de Courcy Thomson. On the ground of agreements to separate in force for more than three years decrees nisi were granted to Nellie Minnie Jane Morrison (Mr Newhery) against John McCullock Morrison, and R hod a Amelia Pike (Mr Townshend) against Charles Pike. APPEAL DISMISSED The appeal of R. and W. Flellaby, Ltd., against Miss F. P. Morris, a shop assistant in the firm's Queen Street branch, being allowed to leave her employment to take a position with a butcher at Waimauku, has been dismissed by the Auckland Industrial Manpower Committee, which reserved its decision when the case was heard last week.
