DISASTER IN BARI
EXPLOSION OF SHIP 360 KILLED : 1730 INJURED (Reed. 5.35 p.m.) LONDON, April 12 When an American ammunition ship exploded in Bari Harbour. Italy, last Monday. 360 persons, including civilians and British and American servicemen, were killed and 1730 were injured. Over 1000 persons are homeless. This is the second disastrous explosion in Bari Harbour; A German air raid on December 12, 1943. caused the explosion of two ammunition ships, resulting in 1000 casualties. A total of 17 ships was destroyed in this raid.
