THE DEERE CASE
ANOTHER APPEAL ACTION TAKEN BY DIRECTOR (0.c.) WAKGANUI, Friday The Director of National Service has lodged an appeal against military service in regard to Kevin Deere. The appeal, which is on the grounds of public interest, will be heard by the No. 6 Armed Forces Appeal Board on Monday. The same board recently dismissed an appeal in respect of Deere lodged by his father, Mr IV J. Deere. Kevin Deere has four brothers serving overseas, one of them being W ingCommander A. C. Deere, D.5.0., D.F.C. and bar. He himself has already serred in both the Army and the Navy, having first left New Zealand in 1940, and was recently called upon to resume service with the forces.
