AIR FORCE WEDDING
MACARTNEY —JOHNSOIM St. Mary's Cathedral, Parnell, was the scene of a picturesque afternoon wedding on March 17, when Miss Dorothy Tvy Johnson, younger daughter of Mr S. 0. Johnson and the late .Mrs Margaret Johnson, of Codriington Crescent, Mission Bay, was married to Leading-Aircraftman H. J, Macartney, ft.N.Z.A.F. (on furlough from the Pacific), elder son of Mr and Mrs A. 10. Macartney, of Norana Avenue, Remuera Dean Fancourt officiated and, Mr Fdgar Randall was at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely trained gown of white cloque trimmed with roule, and a tulle veil falling from a halo of orange-blossom. She carried a sheaf of water-lilies. The'bride's sister, Mrs Roberts, who attended her as matron of honour, and the bridesmaid. Miss Alison Waller, were dressed alike in long frocks of delphinium blue, their headdresses and bouquets being also of delphiniums. Two little flower girls, Antoinette Ralph and Dianne Woollams were in buttercup yellow Mr Athol Mas.sev, of I'ukekohe (returned from the Middle I'last), was best man and Mr Bert Macartney groomsman. The ushers were Messrs .1. Leary S. Woollams, R. P. BiggWither, H. Trout and I. McCullough. A large reception was held at the Berkeley Lounge, the guests being received by Mrs S. 0. Johnson, assisted by the bridegroom's mother.
