Some weeks ago the judicial committee of the Napiei Park Racing Club suspended Lord (or nine months on a charge laid by the stipendiary steward, Mr B. N. TASK FOR MODULATION Should Modulation win the Villiers Stakes at the Australian Jockey Club's meeting today it will be only the second occasion in 45 years that the Epsom Handicap and the Villiers Stakes has been won by the one horse in the same year. . Rebuß won the 1918 Epsom with 9.0 and, carrying 9.10 in the Villiers Stakes, he beat Wedding Day, one of the greatest mares of her time, who had 8.4, and Panacrc, who had 9 4 . Modulation has 9.5 in the Villiers. compared with 8.10 in the Epsom Handicap. He has no opposition of the calibre of Wedding Day or Panacrc, although he has some more than useful gallopers to whom he is to concede a good deal of weight.
