CALL TO ARMIES
SECOND EDITION
EISENHOWER'S ORDER FOILING ENEMY PLANS MUCH ALREADY DONE B\ Telegraph--Press Association— Copyright (Reed. 1.50 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 22 General Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander, has called on his Armies to destroy the enemy who, he says, has come out of his defences in a last great gamble. In an Order of tin Day to his troops, General Eisenhower says the enemy is making a supreme effort to break out of the trap into which the Allied troops forced him by their brilliant victories of the summer and autumn. "lie is fighting savagely to get back all that you have won, and he is using every treacherous trick to deceive and kill you," the Order says. "Already in this battle your gallantry has done much to foil his plans. In the face of your continued fortitude and bravery he will completely fail. But we cannot be content with his mere repulse." The Order says the enemy might find his greatest ■'■ amble turned into his ■worst" defeat, and for this the Allied forces must rise to new heights of courage and resolution. "Let everyone concentrate on destroying the enemy on the ground and in the air. We will, with God's help, go forward to our greatest victory."
