AIR FORCE WEDDING

GIRVEN-FLYGER The wedding of Miss Valma Lenare Flyger, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. N. Flyger, of Rochdale Avenue. St Heliers Ray. to Flying-Officer Owen Edward Girven. younger son of Mr and Mrs E. Girven. of Kinsale Avenue. St. Heliers Ray, took place on Decern bet 1(5 at St. Philip's Church. Si. Heliers Bay. The Rev. L. E. Cartridge officiated. Staff-Sergeant H. Matthews was organist and Miss Jean Milne soloist. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a model gown of heavy cream embossed satin with a long train. Her veil of genuine Brussels net, beaut ifully embroidered, was held by a topknot of cream gladioli and rosebuds, and she carried a bouquet of Christmas lilies, gladioli and rosebuds. The bridesmaids. Miss Dawn Flyger. sister of the bride, and Miss Monnie Menzies, of Hamilton, wore frocks of apricot and apple-green organdie respectively, trimmed with ecru lace insertion Both wore topknots of carnations and candytuft and carried bouquets of the same flowers mingled with lilies in hadess of apricot and lavender. FlyingOfficer Noel Haglund. of Banks Peninsula, was best man, and Pilot-Officer Arthur Batty groomsman. Both the bridegroom and his attendants returned the previous day from service with the R.N.Z.A.F. in the Pacific. The reception was at the Glendowie Country Club.
