FRENCH ECONOMY
DIRECTION BY STATE REHABILITATING COUNTRY (Reed. 6.3(> p. 111.) LONDON, Nov. 14 French economy will be directed by the State in future, according to au announcement made by M. Pierre Mendes-France, Minister of National Economy. He added that his Ministry \vould be the co-ordinating agency in all Government moves for the rehabilitation and modernisation of France and the repair of war losses. A definite plan would be.evolved and a programme wottld be drawn up in consultation with business, financial, industrial leaders, representatives of workers and technicians. It would cover not only Metropolitan France, but the whole of the French Empire. MORE FLYING BOMBS (Rccd. 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 14 The Germans sent Hying bombs against Southern England last night. The attack was not on a big scale and some of the bombs were shot down. Guns exploded one in mid-air and another fell in open country. There were 588 air raid casualties in Great Britain during October, including 172 people killed.
