New Zealand
A wild and beauteous land is this, With forest and bush so rare, For never hath God His powers shown As lie hath ah own them here. Cool preen valleys, slopes and hills, Winding rivers and seas. Shimmering lakes, like jewels set, 'Midst rings of giant trees, Riotous flowers in profusion grow, Ferns their fronds uncurl. Sending them out like slender arms, Tasting the river awhirl. Where the little wood-pigeon makes her home, And the rata its fragrant bowers, Oh praise be to God — oh praise Him indeed — That this wonderful land is ours. —Original, by Anno Gray (13)
