DISPUTE SETTLED 40-HOUR WEEK AGREEMENT (Reccl. 7.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 19 The Sydney newspaper dispute has ended. A meeting of members of the unions concerned today unanimously decided to accept the terms agreed on by the Labour Council Disputes Committee and the newspaper proprietors. Normal shifts will be resumed tomorrow, when the afternoon papers, the Sun and the Daily Mirror, will be published. The morning papers, the Sydney Morning Herald and the Daily Telegraph, will resume publication on Saturday. It is announced that the terms for the settlement of the dispute, which began on October 7, are: — (1) That all employees involved shall be reinstated under the conditions prevailing on October 6. (2) There will be no victimisation by either side. (3) A 40-liour week for members of printing trades unions will be introduced immediately and work in excess of those hours will be paid at overtime rates. (4) The question of four weeks' annual holiday for newspaper workers will be referred to the Arbitration The' composite paper and the News will make their final appearances tomorrow. _____
