MEETING IN ITALY
CHURCHILL AND TITO FRANK DISCUSSIONS ' WELFAIiE OP YUGOSLAVIA (Reed. n.iJO p.m.) LONDON". Ahr.ll The Prime Minister, Mr Churchill, has had meetings in Italy with Marshal Tito and the Prime Minister of the Yugoslav Government in exile, Dr Subasic. At these meetings, which took place on Saturday and Sunday, political and military questions were discussed in a spirit of entire frankness. A special announcement from No. 10 Downing Street says that Marshal Tito and the Yugoslav Prime Minister. propose to continue these discussions, which are animated by the desire of each side to make the largest contribution to the common welfare of Yugoslavia. The diplomatic correspondent of tbp Sunday Times forecasts interesting developments in the near future in the Balkans. He points out that one Russian Army group is ready to move south to penetrate central Czechoslovakia and outflank the German positions in Hungary.
