THE FIGHTING OVERSEAS SOLDIERS AND AIRMEN Reported killed in action, SecondLieutenant lan Limbonrue MarshallInman was the husband of Mrs 1. M. Marshall-Inman, of Tirau, and the second son of tho late Mr and Mrs C Marshall-Inman, of Tiran. He was aged 30 and was one of four brothers who enlisted at the outbreak of war. The eldest, Corporal B. Marshall-Inman, died iji England while on service; the youngest. Private William MarshallInman, was invalided home in 1942; and the third, Captain A. Marshall-Inman, was invalided home in 1942 and returned to_ the Middle East this year. He is serving in Italy.

Second - Lieutenant Marshall - Inman was a well-known Rugby footballer and tennis player and had represented Matamata and Putaruru in both sports. Trooper 1. M. Linnell, who has died from wounds, was the eldest son of Mrs K. and the late Mr F. Linnell, of 230 Balmoral Road, Mount Eden. Pie was aged 23 arid had served overseas for nearly two years. He was educated at the Poroti School. Sergeant George H. Terry, who is reported killed in action, was a son of Mr F. H. Terry, of Ngongataha, and formerly of Korakonui. He attended Massey College, and was interested in the Young Farmers' Club movement. He was a keen Rugby player, and represented YVaipa and Waikato. He also plaved for Manawatu - Horowhenua against the Springboks.

Warrant-Officer Hex Frederick Cottrell, who has been posted as missing on operations, is aged 21 and is the youngest of three sons serving overseas of Mr and Mrs A. G. Cottrell,, of Rotorua. Warrant-Officer Cottrell left Xew Zealand two and a-half vears ago and completed his training in Canada and Kngiand. For some time he was flying Beau fighters with tiie Now Zealand night fighter squadron and afterward he was posted to a Mosquito squadron of the Royal Air Force. He was educated at the Rotorua primary and high schools, Auckland Grammar School, and Auckland University College. He was a member of the Auckland Grammar School's first fifteen and of the senior athletic team. While in training in Kngland he played halfback for the R.N'.Z.A.F. Flight-Sergeant Malcolm Harsant, who has been reported missing, believed killed in action, is tho husband of .Mrs M. Harsant, and the youngest son of Mr and Mrs R. Harsant, of Raglan. He was one of three brothers serving overseas and enlisted at the outbreak of war. However, he was not called up for two years. HOCKEY MATCHES By defeating Whenuapai. the leading team in the Devon port Shield senior hockey coinpetition, at Papatoetoe on Saturday afternoon, Training College upset calculations and provided a sensational finish to win by 3 goals to 2 Somerville now takes the lead.
