WELLINGTON CLUB NOMINATIONS RECEIVED (O C.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday The nominations received for the Wellington .Racing Club's Autumn Meeting on March 11 are sufficient to warrant the meeting being gone ahead with, if the average number of acceptances is received. In response to the clubs invitation many trainers indicated that they had reasonable prospects of arranging the necessary transport, and after allowing for some who may have been actuated by an excess of hopefulness, it appears that inert will be a fair response from those who have a real chance of getting their horsc-g to lreptha.ni. The fields contain many dual entries, but when these are weeded out, there should still be sufficient to enable the club to carry on. The greater problem will be transport for the public, and this is where the club may be faced with an insurmountable difficulty,' for it has been warned by the authorities that no extra trains can be arranged. The stewards meet to-morrow to further consider the advisability of holding the meeting. Entries for the main races are:— N ORTH ISLAND CH A LLE NGE STAKES, of £IOOO ; 7 fur.—Kindergarten, Clarice, Martarma Rose, Coiais, Silvio, A 1 cyone, Master Baron, Plaseida, My Bonnie, Bridge Acre, Coronaire, Delinquent, Deddington, Piccolo, Alazon Bay, Vaais—Queen Brierly gelding, Velvet Slipper, Kindlewood. .AUTUMN HANDICAP, of £2000; 1% miles.—Foxleap, Sunblaze, Jeff, Aurora Australis. Glenfalloch. Sascha, Palfrey, Fortune's Smile, Bascule. Mahaina, Foxhaven, The Monarch, Ozel, Battledress, Macedoine, Rink, Alethea, Vivid Night, Caithness, Wee Bun, Alchemy, Piastre, Lambourn, Merry May. THOMPSON HANDICAP, of £1500; 1 mile.—Daljarrock, Sir Bradbury. Tidelese, Jonathan Jo, Sweet Biscuit, Corday, Lady Spiral, Aurora Australis. Te Awe Awe, Sascha. Neenah, Embroider, Clarice, John Gay, Worlon, Foxleap, Arctic Dawn, Palora, Foxcatcher, Royal Merit, All Night, The Champ. Silver Lily, Master Dash, Lady Acora, Sterling Lad. Theolateral, Killeymoon, Gulf Stream, Lotto, Autolite. TURF JOTTINGS TRACK AND STABLE GOSSIP The return to form at Matamata of Bonnv Pay in winning the Waharoa Handicap and his subsequent good effort for second to Neenah in the Tourist Handicap at the Rotorua Racing Club's meeting suggest that the Autopay gelding may be difficult to dispose o' in the Waihou Handicap at Te Aroha on Saturday. The courageous effort of the three-year-old Flowerburn in the Devonport Handicap at Ellerslie last month is likely to be remembered when the Hazrat colt steps; out at Te Aroha in the Waihou Handicap. At Elletslie Flowerburn and Belle Fox staged a great duel, the latter gaining the decision by a very narrow margin. Expanse and Foxwyn, who fought out; the finish of the '"'-.•eat Northe'n Derby, should add interest to the contest for the Herries Memorial Cup at Te Aroha on Saturday. The three-year-olds are up against a number of proved stayers, but should they reproduce their Derby form Foxwyn and Expanse may prove the most difficu't to beat. Although not successful in winning, Dinky Di has run some sound races recently,; and in his present bright and muscular condition it is not. unlikely that he will continue to pay his way. His consistent efforts deserve to meet with their due reward. Lady Bertha won so nicely at Matamata that her prospects of further success appear reasonably bright. The field for the Champion Hack Cup at Te Aroha is a strong one and contains _ a number of proved stayers. Lady Bertha is not lacking in stamina and she should be capable of a fine showing.
