PRISON FOR ASSAULT
(0.C.) WHANGAREI. Monday Four months' imprisonment was the sentence imposed by Mr. Raymond Ferner, S.M., after convicting John Tucker Edmonds, a Maori, in tne Kaikohe Court on a charge of assault on a female. Sergeant H. Sargent stated that Edmonds had followed two girls from the pictures at Ohaeawai on the night of February 2. He had assaulted one girl-as she was climbing through a fence, but the other girl had come to her companion's assistance and Edmonds had left.
