BOWLING TOURNEYS (0.C.1 ROTORUA, Monday Due to heavy rain and blustery weather conditions experienced to-day, the Rotorua Bowling Club's ■,l2nd annual pairs tournament has been postponed until to-morrow. The secretary of the club, Mr. W. A. Knaggs, stated to-day that it will now depend upon weather conditions during the week whether the tournament •will be concluded by Saturday next. It was hoped to finalise the matches on Saturday morning, but, should conditions be favourable (luring the remainder of the week, it is probable that the tournament will not be concluded before Saturday afternoon. Rain which commenced on Sunday afternoon has thoroughly soaked the greens. Helensvjlle Tourney.—The final of the club's annual rinks tourney resulted in a win for Mitchell, Savers Hodd and Martin (Carlton), who defeated Elliott, Strong, Anton and Hunt (Helensville), by 25 points to 15. INTER-SERVICES ROWING An inter-services rowing regatta will be held in Auckland on Saturday week. The programme will consist of five races, the chief events being for the Brett Memorial Cup and the Thompson Gold Cup, the latter contest being for service crews only. There will also be a race for women in the various services. The West End Rowing Clnb will celebrate its sixtieth jubilee on Saturday week. In view of the fact that so many of the club's active members are overseas, there is little likelihood of any racing taking place on that, day, the present intention being that it take the form of a reunion of old members and their wives and families. AMATEUR ATHLETICS Records at Dunedln. —A Press Association message from Dunedin states that at the Otago women's and junior athletic championships Miss M. Gibson broke the discus record with a performance of 99ft 8V 2 in. This is an inch and a-half better than the New Zealand record of 99ft Tin, established by Miss D.
