AIR FORCE SERVICE AUCKLANDERS PROMOTED Promotion to the rank of group captain has been gained by Wing-Com-ma nder Douglas P. Lee, eldest son of Mrs. P. G. Lee, of Remuera, according to private advice received by hii mother. Group-Captain Lee, who is 34, waa educated at the Remyera School and the New Plymouth Boys' 4 High School. He joined the Royal Air Force in 1931 and has served on stations in many 'parts of the world, including Irak, Persia and Saudi Arabia. He was seconded to the South African Air Force early in the war and is at present attached to the Air Directorate at Pretoria.

Advice has been received in Auckland that Warrant-Officer Gordon Lindsay Kennedy, D.F.C., has been commissioned in the rank of pilot-officer in the Air Force. Pilot-Officer Kennedy was decorated in September last for his work as a bomber captain and pilot. He is 22, and enlisted in the Air Force from Wellington in 1941.
