THE AUCKLAND ELECTRIC - POWER BOARD. RATES FOR SUPPLY. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following alterations in rates of supply and conditions governing domestic "Thermal Storage" waterheating services in the Board's area:— 1, As from the Ist day of, August, 1043. all domestic water-heating rates and conditions of supply hitherto existing be cancelled. 2. As from the Ist day of August, 1043, the following rates and conditions ot supply shall apply to all domestic water-heating services as above defined:— (a) For existing 21-hour daily restricted services. £lO por 1000 watts per annum, or pro rata according to the size of the element, provided that this charge is not apportionable to any broken period, and provided further that no installation at present rated on the foregoing basis shall be changed over to a 24-hour daily unrestricted service, and no now installation on this basis shall be connected to the Board's system. (b) For existing 2-1 hour daily unrestricted services, £l2/12/- per 1000 watts per annum or nro rata according to the size of the element, provided that this charge is not apportionable to any broken period, and that no new installation on this basis shall be connected to the Board's system, provided further that any consumer at present enjoying the flat rate for a 24-hour daily unrestricted service may elect to take a metered supply at %d per unit upon the condition that he shall install a thermostat so soon as such appliances shall be available. (c) All domestic water-nearing installations hereafter connected to the Board's system shati tie thermostatically controlled and consumption recorded through a meter at- %A per unit. If any consumer at present enjoying either"a Hat rate for a 21-hour daily restricted service or a flat rate for a 21-hour daily unrestricted service shall carry out any repair alteration or renewal in or to such consumer's hot water cylinder, or sha.l change the location thereof, then such consumer shall not, be entitled to a continuation of a supply of power unless the system is controlled oy a thermostat and the supply metered at %d per unit. Id) The Board reserves the right m respect of all domestic water-heating services now or hereafter connected to the Boards system to install at any time and from time to time, such appliances or apparatus as may iii'the opinion of the Board bo necessary to cut off, diminish or otherwise control the simply of electric energy to such services during the periods of peal; loading. o The words "domestic water-heating" wherever used shall be deemed to include onlv installations wifh heaters in excess of 10 gallons capacity and fitted w in an element not exceeding 750 watts, and the application of the rates and conditions of supply above set forth shall be limited accordingly.
