NAVAL WEDDINGS

MALLORY—CROPPER The marriage of Miss Pauline Airini Cropper, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cropper, of Araroa, Vincent Avenue, Reinuera, to Lieutenant Clifford Day Mallory, United States Naval Reserve, only son of Mrs. Clifford Mallory, of New York, U.S.A., took place yesterday afternoon at St. Andrew's Church, Epsom, Canon R, L. Connolly, of St. Aidan's. officiated. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of white lace and tulle designed with charming simplicity, the close-fitting lace bodice surmounting a full tulle skirt slightly trained. Her veil, also of tulle, was ■"•aught with a spray of orange-blossom, and she carried a bouquet of white tuberoses and bouvardia. Her sister, Miss Errol Cropper, was bridesmaid, and wore a frock of shadow rose crepe made 011 tailored lines, -.vith a lone roll neckline and a bead-embroidered pocket. Her bouquet of red roses was matched by the flowers on her hair. Lieutenant John Lawrence, U.S.N.R., was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. Cropper received her guests in a navy and white frock and navy straw hat, and carried a bouquet of mixed flowers in French tonings.

SOUTH WICK—PALMER Tho wedding took place yesterday afternoon at St. George's Church, Ep--10111, of Miss Beatrice Palmer, younger daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. G. Palmer, of Katikati, and Leading-Sea-man Noel Southwick, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Southwick, of Wellington. The Rev. J. L. Litt officiated.

The bride, wlio was given away by her uncle, Mr. W. T. Palmer, wore a gown of cream georgette cloque with an embroidered shoulder yoke and a slightly-trained skirt. Her heirloom veil was of Limerick lace, and her bouquet of white chrysanthemums and winter roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Erica Read, wore a frock of apple-green sheer with a shell-pink front panel and a butterfly net head-dress caught with a pink bow. Her bouquet was of pink carnations and chrysanthemums. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, SecondLieutenant Give Southwick. The reception was held at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. M. E. Makgill, U camera.

ENGAGED TO BRIGADIER

News has been received of the engagement of Miss Joan Stewart Fenwick, elder daughter of Mrs. D. Eardley Fenwick and the late Dr. Fenwick, of Wellington, to Brigadier Kenneth MacCormick, D.5.0., DirectorGeneral of Medical Services, Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Miss Fenwick, who left New Zealand in October with a group of Red Cross V.A.D.'s, is at present serving in a New Zealand hospital ship. Brigadier MacCormick saw service with the New Zealand Medical Corps in the last war and was senior surgeon at the Auckland Hospital before leaving to serve in the present war. The wedding will take place shortly.

Chaplin, Maungatapere. Wilson —Windelburn. —The engagement is announced between Corporal Clarence Alex ander Wilson, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Wilson, of Huntly. and Joan Margaret, only child of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Windelburn, of Auckland.
