AUCKLAND EXCHANGE MARKET LEADERS WEAKEN A larger turnover Avas recorded on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, with values fairly steady. Market loaders, both New Zealand and Australian, however, seem slightly easier, , and the demand appears to have shifted " to miscellaneous issues, and especially to those quoted at a discount. United Building showed a gain of Is 6d since November and touched their highest level in recent years. Auckland Gas shares continued their late recovery with business at 7s Id. MINING COMPANIES Bulolo Gold Dredging, Limited (Vancouver), had a net working profit of 2,354,044 dollars, Canadian, or about £672,755, for the year ended May 31, 1042. This is shown before amortisation, and an appropriation of 2,000,000 dollars (£571,428) to war contingencies reserve. Net profit for the previous year was 3,912,071 dollars (£1,117,006). Eight dredges operated from June 1. 1941. to January 21, 1942. when dredging ceased because of Japanese aerial attacks upon the area. A preliminary claim amounting to £538,426 has been filed with the Australian War Damage Commission respecting stores, supplies and fixed assets damaged or destroyed. Under Australian regulations settlement of war damage claims will not be made until after the war . Profit of Placer Development, Limited (Vancouver). for the year ended April 30. 1942, was 1,233,621 dollars, Canadian (£852,463), compared with 1.059.264 dollars (£311,218) for the previous year. Pato Consolidated Gold Dredging, Limited (Vancouver) dredged 2,208,000 cubic yards for a recovery of 25,3000z fine gold, and recovered with its hydraulic units 35560z fine gold, the value of the total production being 1,011,325 American dollars.
