MAN KILLED
CUTTING DOWN A TREE j STRUCK BY FALLING LIMB (0.C.) WAXGANUI, Friday While felling a tree in the Ohakune reserve, near the railway line to Raetilii, this morning, the foreman of the Ohakune Borough Council was struck by a limb and killed. He was Mr. Thomas Bernard O'Connell, married, aged 50. Another employee who was working with him, Mr. Jack Watson, was in- j jured and taken to the Eaetihi Hospital, j The falling tree struck another in its path, knocking off a limb which killed j Mr. O'Connell. Mr. Watson was knocked unconscious and no knowledge of the accident was obtained until other employees returned to the reserve after lunch. They found that Mr. Watson had recovered consciousness and crawled some distance to seek assistance.
