EIGHT INJURED
HO3IE GUAM) INTOLYEDj ACCIDENT AT NIGHT Seven members of the Karaka Home Guard and a taxi driver were injured near the Karaka Hall on Tuesday night ■when a taxi ran into the rear of a column of men marching on the main road. One Guardsman. Mr. John Augustus Heidt, farmer, aged 53, who suffered a fracture of each leg, was taken to the Auckland Hospital in a military ambulance. Captain Harold Walters, who was in charge, received severe cuts to the head and a bruised leg, while Lieutenant William Worthington received a fractured collar-bone. The other five received minor injuries. All were attended by Drs. Warrei* Young and G. W. Lock, of Papakura.
