First he was torpedoed and picked up from a cargo ship when on his way to England, via Capetown. He was taken back to New York by way of Canada. ; On his second attempt, he was torpedoed again in a tanker and taken prisoner by a U-boat. The crew was taken to a prison camp in Denmark. Dr. Chisholm escaped from the camp, which he described as a hell, and finally landed in Britain, where he is waiting to be called up for service as a medical officer with the Army.
